Oktoberfest: Where to go

So I'm here in Munich attending the IIIR Converged Messaging Summit and, by pure chance and of secondary importance (ahem), Oktoberfest. The conference is fascinating - but the highlight so far has been the excellent advice emailed to me by Tobias, our German developer at Trutap. If you're here in Munich, this may prove invaluable:

----

3 things you should look out for in particular ( they can/should be done
after the drinking):

Teufelsrad: An absolute *must* on the Oktoberfest - super funny, but
don't break any bones please.

Toboggan: Also very funny, but very tricky. If you want to impress the
Bavarian ladies and prove that you're a real "Burschi", try it out.

Hau-den-Lukas: Translates "Hit-the-Luke", so I think that one is a must
for you (just don't say your name, maybe). Usually you'd down a
"Schnaps" before you "hit the Luke" and then you prove to the rest of
them (mostly the ladies) that you're the strongest... which of course
you are!

General conduct - things to remember (if you still can)
-------------------------------------------------------

- Throwing up is done in the lavatories (they have special handle bars
over the basins to facilitate it) or on the grass slopes at the sides of
the Fest. Doing it inside a tent or over a ladies cleavage is generally
frowned upon (although it happens frequently).

- The locals do not refer to the Oktoberfest as "Oktoberfest", but they
call it the "Wies'n" (pronounced "Veezn"). So, just in case you wonder
what that strange word is everyone is going on about, it's the feast you
just attend.

- After the Fest, when you'll wander drunk and aimlessly through the
streets near the Oktoberfest and you're desperate to wee, and you'll be
stopping by in that random courtyard to relieve yourself, it's probably
where my old flat is. Say hi to the caretaker please, he's called "Mr.
Sahin".
